Reference: Request an annulment of the existence of Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Human Rights Council, United Nations.
Honorable Sirs and Madams:
Whereas, as reported from Human Rights Watch in 2015, "Vietnam's human rights record remains dire in all areas. The Communist Party maintains a monopoly on political power and allows no challenge to its leadership. Basic rights, including freedom of speech, opinions, press, association, and religions, are restricted…"
Whereas, today, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam continuously violates most of 30 Articles clearly stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, especially Article 3, 17, and 25.
Article 3: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
Article 17:
(1) Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
Article 25:
(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
· Whereas, Vietnamese people are still expelled from their own lands to serve the purpose of the government that is to build golf clubs, restaurants, hotels or luxury houses for government high ranking officials. Hundred thousands of home owners suddenly became homeless! In case the home owners protested peacefully on the streets, they would be detained in jails without any fair trial.
· Whereas, the worst case of violating Human Rights just occurred in Vietnam a couple of days ago. For about a week or so, fish in southern sea along the coast unexpectedly died in masses. Dead fish scattered from the North to South, about a thousand miles of seashore and made the seawater smelled badly. The reason that made fish dead was a mile long pipe of toxic wastes of a Chinese manufactory, named Formosa, located at Northern Seaside of Vietnam, emerged directly into the sea and poisoned the fish. To protect people from eating poisonous fish, fishermen had to stop all their activities on the sea altogether.
· Whereas, the lives of hundred thousand fishermen are in danger. If they can not go fishing to have some income for their families, they surely will die of hunger. If fishermen and their families die of hunger, hundred thousands of farmers will also suffer because they could not sell their products to seamen and their families anymore. Totally, millions of people will suffer due to toxic wastes coming from a Chinese manufactory.
· Whereas, strange enough, Communist government did nothing to prevent this silent massacre. Even the Minister of Health Department kept silence because she and other high ranking officials were afraid of Chinese's power. They just watched their people die in masses. A couple of days ago, The Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong had visited Formosa, but after the visit, he came back his office and kept silence since then. He was like other leaders of Communist Party, just watched their people die in pain.
Resolved by The People of Vietnam: The Socialist Republic Government refused to take responsibilities as Leaders of Vietnam. They neglected their duty that was to protect their people from harm coming from everywhere. Millions of people died because of their cowardice and their lack of capacity as Leader. Indeed, they violated People's right to Live and the right to be secured as stated clearly in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam is not deserved to be a member of United Nations Commission for Human Rights.
We solemnly request: the Socialist Republic of Vietnam should be expelled from that Commission without any delay.
